ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Wednesday disposed of a petition, seeking contempt of court proceedings against the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) over non-implementation of court orders regarding the Pakistan Steel Mills.
The court directed the petitioner to contact the appropriate forum for redressal of his grievances.
A three-member bench of the apex court, headed by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali and comprising Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed and Justice Amir Hani Muslim, heard the case filed by Nadeem Sheikh.
During the proceedings, the petitioner appeared before the court and stated that NAB had failed to investigate the Pakistan Steel Mills according to court orders.
Justice Azmat Saeed remarked that closure of steel mills was a good decision as it was incurring losses and earning nothing. “The government had to pay the employees from the tax payers’ money,” he said.
The court directed the petitioner to contact the appropriate forum and disposed of the case.
