RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif on Friday said NAP’s lack of progress is affecting the consolidation phase of Zarb-e-Azb military offensive.
According to a statement issued by Inter-Services Public Relations, the army chief expressed these views while chairing a high-level security meeting here at the General Headquarters.
The meeting, attended by principle staff officers, director general of Inter-Services Intelligence and Commander Rawalpindi Corps, reviewed progress on Zarb-e-Azb military offensive and National Action Plan (NAP).
“Unless all prongs deliver meaningfully and all inadequacies are addressed, remnants of terrorism would continue to simmer and long term peace and stability would remain a distant dream,” said the army chief.
“We have come a long way in fighting this war on terror and reversing the tide towards eliminating this scourge from our soil. The whole nation has been standing alongside its security forces.”
